How can Effective Governance unlock value from Sustainability?
Organised by the INSEAD Corporate Governance Centre (ICGC) in collaboration with EY
The clock is ticking in the race to address worldwide issues on sustainability. With heightened demand from the society on businesses to lead the way in addressing the burgeoning sustainability challenges, boards of directors are tasked to critically rethink their sustainability agenda and plan to consider what are the changes and renewal needed to deliver meaningful outcomes.
Organised by the INSEAD Corporate Governance Centre, together with EY, the Webinar and Digital Dialogue will delve into the findings from EY’s “Europe Long-Term Value and Corporate Governance Survey 2023” which reveals that there is a critical link between how sustainability is handled at board level and business performance. Effective governance and board oversight is paramount for driving sustainability from target setting to concrete outcomes. To achieve this, boards need to effectively manage the dynamic tension balancing between short- and long-term priorities, leverage boarder engagement, remuneration and reporting to deliver systematic, accountable and authentic strategy to sustainability.
Join us for an interactive exchange, as we showcase the research highlights presented by Martijn de Jong, Corporate Governance specialist, EY Netherlands, followed by a stimulating discussion with a panel of experts and board directors – Frederic Barge, Managing Director of Reward Value, Dominique Delporte-Vermeiren, Board Member of World Smart Cities Economic Development Commission, Advisory Board Member of Merity LLC and Founder of Groupe VerDel Holding and the president of VerDel Innovation, Michael Hilb, Chair of Board Foundation, Board member of Klingelnberg,Kuhn and Sigvaris Group, International Corporate Governance Network, EcoDA, and Chapter Zero Switzerland, and Liselotte Engstam, Chair of Boards Impact Forum and member of the global board at the Climate Governance Initiative Chair and Non-Executive Director in listed and private companies who will comment on the findings and discuss how boards can effectively champion the cause in driving value-led sustainability strategy.
