Upcoming Masterclasses
Session 8: From the Science Lab to the Business Office - 29 May 2026
We warmly invite you to join our next BFC Masterclass, where you will discover how the INSEAD–Sorbonne Business Foundations Certificate (BFC) is designed to support researchers and academics looking to transition into the business world.
Led by Professor Hilke Plassmann, this one-hour session will explore how the BFC equips Master's students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers with the practical business foundations they need to make a successful shift from academia to a professional or entrepreneurial career. Drawing on research and real-world examples, Professor Plassmann will show how the programme bridges the gap between scientific expertise and business practice, helping participants develop the strategic, financial, and managerial skills that employers and organisations are looking for.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions during the Q&A session and engage with programme alumni to hear how the BFC supported their own transition from research to the business world.
Please register by Thursday, 29 May 2026, 10:00 AM CET, to confirm your participation.

Session 7: Strategic Choices in Ecosystems vs Value Chains - 28 April 2026
We warmly invite you to join our next BFC Masterclass, where you will discover the BFC programme and explore strategic choices in ecosystems versus value chains.
Led by Professor James Costantini, this one-hour session will examine two fundamentally different ways of creating and capturing value: traditional value chains, where firms control sequential activities, and ecosystems, where multiple interdependent players co-create value in more dynamic, platform-driven environments.
The session will also show how the BFC equips PhD and master's students, as well as early-career professionals, with practical strategy tools to design robust business models and make more informed career and entrepreneurial choices.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions during the Q&A session and engage with programme alumni to hear about their experience with the BFC.
Please register by Tuesday, 28 April 2026, 10:00 AM CET, to confirm your participation.
