A Curriculum Designed Around Your Career Objectives

Delivered by both Tsinghua and INSEAD faculty, the TIEMBA is designed around several essential components: Core Courses, Elective Courses, Key Management Challenges and a Final Thesis. The programme is further strengthened by a distinctive Leadership Development Programme which runs throughout the course of study. In addition to your time spent on campus, you will also need to allow time for independent study, pre-course preparation and post-course assignments. The TIEMBA programme’s modular format is specially designed to allow you to put new ideas and techniques straight into practice within your organisation.

4 Elective Courses

Electives allow you to delve deeper into the topics of your choice – with pass/fail assessment to encourage you to leave your comfort zone. They are held over two weeks during the French summer, when INSEAD’s Fontainebleau campus is at its most idyllic. The module is shared with INSEAD’s Global Executive MBA classes to ensure greater choice – and new networking possibilities. Alumni are also invited to return, further broadening your network and offering you a chance of truly lifelong learning after graduation. 9 Key Management Challenges (KMCs)

KMC courses – run before and after the Electives – cover broad, multi-disciplinary, whole-company issues, reflecting the uncertainty, changeability, open-ended problems and incomplete information of real life. You will usually be assessed through written assignments based on your experiences at work. Choices typically include:

Thesis

The final component of the programme is your thesis: a live case study with you as the central character. With support from the faculty, you will write about a real-world project, such as a new venture or corporate innovation – with ample time to work on it after the final module. Following the “defence” of your submission at Tsinghua, your work will also be translated into Chinese and published for all to read.

Personal Leadership Development Programme with individual and group coaching

The Leadership Development Programme (LDP) combines a wide range of innovative learning methods designed to expand your range of effective leadership styles. Its runs throughout the programme with on-campus and off-campus elements.

As a working professional, the TIEMBA programme allows you to advance your skill sets as you work. You will be on campus typically for a week-long session, every six weeks. Overall, you will be spending 12 weeks on campus spread across 22 months.

GEMBA Open Day with Masterclass | Europe Campus

You are warmly invited to come to the INSEAD Europe campus for an afternoon fully dedicated to the Global Executive MBA programme!


Li Huang, Professor of Organisational Behaviour will deliver a masterclass. This is a good opportunity for you to experience the learning environment at INSEAD. 

  

Then, we will run sessions in which you will:

Achieving Lasting Influence

Synopsis: Being able to influence stakeholders is one of the most important aspects of being a successful leader. Indeed, many would argue it is THE core aspect of leadership success. In this masterclass, we will introduce a framework that helps you understand the key levers in exerting lasting influence. We will discuss tactics that can help you translate the framework into an actionable roadmap by Li Huang, Professor of Organisational Behaviour.

Masterclass Topic: Organizations in the Age of Algorithms

Synopsis: Professor Phanish, Professor of Strategy, the Roland Berger Chaired Professor of Strategy and Organisation Design at INSEAD will present and discuss his forthcoming book “Re-Humanize: Keeping organizations human centric in the age of algorithms” (Penguin, Fall 2024). Organizations are a means to help us accomplish collectively what we cannot individually. But they are also social contexts that are the natural habitat for homo sapiens. Prof. Phanish argues that advances in algorithmic technologies, particularly AI, can alter the balance between these two roles of organizations in our societies. He proposes that we can preserve the balance by thinking carefully about how to absorb algorithmic technologies into our organization designs.
