Strategy - Academic Areas

Strategy

Collectively, the strategy area is a global thought leader  in the multi-disciplinary study of factors contributing to the superior long term performance of organizations. We construe performance in the broadest sense covering economic, social, and human dimensions. Our thought leadership is manifest in research and teaching that changes the way of thinking and doing of both the academic and practitioner communities. We accomplish this through a combination of diversity -- in approach, methodology, theoretical orientation, geographical location, personal background, and ideology -- and of unity -- in scientific and ethical norms.

Post-Doctoral Position

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS 2025 – FELLOWS

Supervisor: Ella Miron-Spektor and Phanish Puranam

Supervisor page: Ella Miron-Spektor; Phanish Puranam

Host Institution: INSEAD

Research Lab: Strategy and Organisational Behavior

Project Title : Organizations and Algorithms

Project Description
Professors Ella Miron-Spektor and Phanish Puranam invite applications from outstanding researchers who wish to apply for a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) fellowship with INSEAD as the host institution. If the MSCA fellowship application is successful, the Postdoctoral Researcher position would be full-time on INSEAD’s France campus.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a research program situated at the intersection of strategy, organizational behavior, and computer science. Collaborators include Professors Vivianna Fang He (UCL) and Yash Raj Shreshtha (HEC Lausanne). Work in progress can be found here:

In today’s rapidly evolving work environment, generative AI (GenAI) is reshaping how individuals and collectives generate, evaluate, and integrate ideas. Our research seeks to understand how human–AI collaboration can be intentionally designed to augment human creativity and enhance collective decision-making. We investigate how various models of human–AI collaboration influence team dynamics, individual motivation, and creative performance. The role involves working with large-scale, real-world data from AI-assisted brainstorming platforms, in addition to designing and conducting laboratory and online experiments to test key theoretical insights.

The ideal candidate will be a recent PhD graduate with a demonstrated interest in topics such as human-AI interaction, organizational design, creativity, group decision-making, or related areas. Strong analytical skills are essential, including experience with designing and running experiments, programming, data analysis, and data visualization. Some exposure to working with Large Language Models for research is desirable but not essential.

In addition, the Postdoctoral Researcher will take on coordination responsibilities similar to a “lab manager” role, overseeing research assistants and managing project logistics. They will be expected to contribute to scholarly publications, both as a co-author and as lead author on selected projects.

This role is ideally suited for candidates seeking to deepen their expertise and build a strong academic publication record and network in preparation for a faculty career.
