Michael Jarrett is a Professor of Management Practice in Organizational Behavior at INSEAD, where he co-directs the Strategic Execution Programme and serves as Academic Director of INSEAD's Executive Masters in Change. He also chairs the Organization Development and Change Interest Group of the Academy of Management.
His research and consulting focus on the psychological and structural dynamics that shape — and often derail — strategic change in organizations. Drawing on systems psychodynamics and process theory, he examines the hidden dynamics of top management teams, intergroup conflict, and cultural routines that can undermine organizational transformation. His current research explores the role of humor in status negotiations within senior teams, intuition and decision-making in top leadership during crisis, and the processes that determine post-merger integration outcomes.
Michael's work has been published in journals including Human Relations, The Leadership Quarterly, Organization Research Methods, Long Range Planning, and the Journal of Change Management, and has been featured in Harvard Business Review, the Financial Times, and media outlets across Asia and Europe. In both teaching and client work, he uses group experiential learning, discovery methods, and video ethnography to surface tacit organizational practices. He has received multiple Dean's Awards for outstanding teaching in executive programs.
Michael holds a PhD from Cranfield School of Management and an MSc in Economics from the University of London, and is a trained gestalt and psychodynamic group consultant. He has served as a staff member and group consultant with the Tavistock Institute and the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, held a visiting appointment at the Wharton School, and continues as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bath School of Management.

Erik van de Loo is affiliate professor Organisational Behaviour at INSEAD.
He is co-founder and co-director of the INSEAD Executive Masters in Change, based on a system-psychodynamic approach.
He previously held professorships at Free University Amsterdam and TIAS at University Tilburg in the Netherlands as well as UniRazak University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
He has studied clinical psychology and philosophical antropology (cum laude) at Radboud University Nijmegen, became Doctor in Social Sciences at Leiden University (1987) and obtained a masters in Work, Organization and Health at SIOO (1998).
He completed trainings to become a licensed psychotherapist (1999) and psychoanalyst at the Dutch Psychoanalytic Society (2000).
His recent research and publications are about the transgenerational impact of collective trauma on the development of leader values, unconscious phantasy patterns in leaders, (un)conscious board dynamics and leadership processes in hospitals.

Saskia de Maat is adjunct professor of Organizational Behaviour at INSEAD and is a trained psychoanalyst, organizational consultant, and scholar. She has been involved with the Executive Master of Change (EMC) programme at INSEAD for several years, contributing as a practicum supervisor, coach, and lecturer. As of September 2022, she stepped into the role as Programme Director of EMC where she integrates her knowledge of and experience in organizational, academic, and clinical fields.
After having studied Communications and Marketing, Saskia started her career in corporate life with Akzo Nobel, working for more than 12 years in various roles (mainly in marketing in the Coatings Division). Here, she developed a deep understanding of organizational and leadership challenges and processes.
Saskia left corporate life for her passion of psychology and trained as a licenced psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, working for almost 10 years with the Dutch Psychoanalytic Institute in Amsterdam. Next to her clinical practice, she also set up her own consulting and coaching practice, where she works within executives, non-executives and professional leaders and their teams and boards from a system psychodynamic perspective.
Appreciating and being challenged by academic thinking and research, Saskia always combined her clinical work with research activities. She was part of a research group in her clinic and obtained a PhD in clinical psychology (2007) with her dissertation The effectiveness of psychoanalytic therapy, short if possible, long if necessary, studying the effectiveness of psychodynamic therapies. She published in various international journals such as the Harvard Review of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy research, Depression and Anxiety and BMC Psychiatry.
Her research interests have shifted towards the field of applied psychodynamic thinking in leadership and organizations and recent research includes the question of the impact of unconscious phantasy structures on leadership behaviour. Together with Erik van de Loo, she presented research on unconscious phantasy patterns in young Russian leaders at the 2021 EGOS conference (Unconscious phantasies driving leaders and boards, a tentative exploration of unconscious phantasy patterns driving leaders) and the 2021 ISPSO Conference (Metaphors of Success, An object relational exploration of inner walls and doors in young Russian leaders).
Saskia has a broad teaching experience. She worked as faculty with the VU University in Amsterdam and with the RINO Amsterdam Psychotherapy Training Programme. She was a lecturer at the Centre for Executive Coaching of the VU University in Amsterdam, teaching senior business leaders and HR professionals and executive coaches. She worked for leadership programmes in the Netherlands and developed her own masterclasses on psychodynamic theory and practice and topics for executive coaches, HR professionals and clinical professionals.
In the Netherlands Saskia is working as an executive coach and consultant with (non) executives and their teams and boards. She co-conducts a programme designed for non-executives to develop their leadership in context. She gives role consultations and consults on change, leadership, and personal development. Saskia has clients stemming from a broad range of sectors including the financial sector, law firms, health care, construction companies, consultancy, universities, higher education institutes, IT, large corporates, packaging industry, and public and not for profit organisations.
Saskia is member of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA), the Dutch Psychoanalytic Association (NPaV), the International Society for Psychoanalytic Studies of Organisations (ISPSO) and of the European Group of Organisational Studies (EGOS).

Lee White
Adjunct Professor of Organisational Behaviour.
Lee is a Programme Director on the Executive Masters in Change in Singapore. Lee also teaches and consults on INSEAD’s Strategy Execution programme, a course that helps executives to improve the implementation of strategy, through a mixture of taught units, experiential learning and coaching.
He is an Organisational Psychologist with a focus on the creative application of psychological research and techniques to help individuals, teams and organisations. He consults, coaches and teaches with clients from different industry sectors around the world.
Lee is actively involved in research. He is working on a number of projects including looking at how collective emotions influence the execution of organisations’ strategic initiatives, modelling constructive cognitive processes in decision making and investigating the systems psychodynamics of change and organisational decision making. He has published research in journals such as Cognition, the Journal of Applied Research in Memory and Cognition and Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A. He has a first degree in Psychology, Masters’ in Occupational Psychology and Research Methods, and he obtained his PhD from Swansea University.
In addition to his work in academia, Lee has nearly 30 years of experience as a consultant and coach. He works as an associate with two consultancy firms engaged in change management, research projects, individual assessment and coaching. He works with clients around the world in different sectors including financial services, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing.
Previously Lee worked as a Consultant with specialist consultancy firms where he has held responsibility for global clients, project management and delivery.
Lee is a Health Professions Council Registered Occupational Psychologist in the UK, a Chartered Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
