Rethinking CEO Succession: From Replacement to Reinvention

CEO succession is one of the most consequential decisions a board will ever make — and one of the least well understood. It shapes strategy, culture, investor confidence, and long-term organisational performance. Yet too often, boards treat succession as a one-off replacement exercise rather than a sustained governance discipline. To address this gap, INSEAD Professor Stanislav Shekshnia has written a new book — 21 Questions about CEO Succession. The Webinar hosted by INSEAD Corporate Governance Centre will feature Professor Shekshnia presenting key findings from the book and fireside chat with by distinguished board leaders who will share their perspectives and hard-won lessons from leading succession processes in practice.
