Sustaining performance through active ownership
Value Creation for Owners and Directors is a five-day programme designed to develop the skills and knowledge for highly effective ownership and board membership. It focuses on families, entrepreneurs, family offices, board members, wealth and sovereign fund managers, directors and board members, as well as the people who interact with them such as executives, CEOs, investors, private bankers, wealth managers and consultants. The goal is to develop a framework that helps to create value.
Over the last decade, the responsibility for company performance, value creation, sustainability and risk management – that is, value creation and preservation – has shifted significantly from management to owners and directors. Business owners and directors are being called upon to play an increasingly active and critical role in strategic guidance, oversight and effective decision-making.
As organisations grapple with globalisation, heightened volatility and societal complexities, owners and directors require a more sophisticated skill set and a deeper understanding of the mechanisms that generate value. In essence, they must be able to shape and drive the long-term success of the organisation.
Value Creation for Owners and Directors helps participants develop the skills and knowledge needed to be highly effective owners and directors, as well as understand and interact effectively with them. The goal is to understand how to run the company (and the family) from the owner’s seat.
Over five days, the programme focuses on the key areas of value creation: finance, governance, strategy, decision-making, leadership and organisational skills. Using INSEAD frameworks and tools, the programme develops toolkits that help owners and directors incorporate value creation in a systematic way.
