Diversity and inclusion are not new ideas at INSEAD, they’ve been part of our story from the beginning.
Our founders built a school that brings together people, cultures and ideas to develop responsible leaders who transform business and society. Diversity and inclusion are values that have always defined who we are.
"INSEAD was created in 1957 with the idea that we can contribute to peace and to understanding through business, through leadership. That was the essence, this idea that we exist to create leaders that can thrive in this diverse global environment. Diversity and inclusion is part of our DNA. We didn’t do it as a trend. So we are continuing our trajectory."
- Francisco Veloso, Dean of INSEAD, quoted in Bloomberg
Unpacking Diversity and Inclusion at INSEAD
Diversity is the mix of perspectives, experiences, and identities that shape our community. Inclusion is the way we work to ensure every voice is respected and has room to grow.
“Real progress in diversity and inclusion comes from evidence, not ideology. We lead with research, guided by values, to build systems that work for everyone.”
- Kaisa Snellman, Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusion as INSEAD
Watch Professor Snellman explain why reducing inequality is crucial to achieving sustainable development.
What We’re Doing
Our work focuses on everyday actions that strengthen our culture and community. We work to build trust between faculty and staff, support managers in leading diverse teams, and create spaces where everyone can take part fully. From dialogue sessions and inclusive classroom initiatives to accessibility upgrades and support for neurodiversity, our goal is to make belonging part of how we learn and work together.
We also invest in networks that connect and care. Affinity groups, mentorship programmes and D&I champions help create a sense of belonging, while clear systems prevent and address harassment and promote wellbeing across our campuses. Through surveys, data and transparent goals, we track our progress and ensure equity in how we recruit, develop and support our people at INSEAD.
Diversity and inclusion are responsibilities we all share. We invite you to share your perspectives, questions or ideas by contacting us here.
