Expanding Opportunity: Martha Njambi MBA’26J

Martha Njambi MBA’26J, INSEAD Scholarship recipient, believes that access to world-class education unlocks potential and positions individuals to compete and lead globally.

Raised in Kenya, Martha’s journey reflects both resilience and remarkable academic excellence. A trained lawyer and accountant, she graduated in the top 10% of her class at the University of Nairobi before building a fast-rising career in international tax across more than 20 jurisdictions in Sub-Sahara Africa. Within eight years at one of Kenya’s leading investment firms, she earned four merit-based promotions, a testament to her discipline, intellect and leadership potential.

Today at INSEAD, supported by a Scholarship, she is expanding her leadership toolkit with a clear goal in mind: to return to Kenya and contribute to shaping stronger institutions and more inclusive growth. “I want to challenge the status quo,” she says. “I want to highlight the opportunities we can draw from the African continent and use my journey to demonstrate what is possible through vision, discipline and global ambition.”

Her long-term ambition includes pursuing a career in management consulting while continuing her engagement in community initiatives that support education access. She is particularly committed to mentoring and supporting young girls in her community, encouraging them to pursue education with confidence.

For Martha, the Scholarship represents more than financial assistance. It represents trust in her ability to lead, to give back, and to amplify opportunity for others. It enables her to access one of the world’s leading MBA programmes and to bring global perspective back home.

Her story highlights the transformative power of scholarships at INSEAD. By opening doors to exceptional talent from around the world, scholarships empower leaders who will strengthen communities, institutions and industries far beyond campus. In Martha’s case, that impact will resonate through classrooms, boardrooms and the lives of young girls who, inspired by her journey, dare to aim higher.

Supporting scholarships means supporting leaders like Martha, leaders who carry opportunity forward and multiply its impact.
