Family Enterprise Day - Regenerating Success, Transition and Longevity in Family Firms

INSEAD Asia Campus, Singapore
9 am - 1:45 pm

Overview

2023 is looking to be another tumultuous year for global business as the world economic outlook remains gloomy in the fog of geopolitical tensions, rising inflation, and supply chain disruptions. Under such turbulent conditions, should family business owners themselves lead the charge or accelerate the next generation transition to empower their upcoming family leaders to spearhead new strategic innovations that could revitalise the family business and strengthen its resilience?

The process of transferring power, integrating the younger generation and renewal of the leadership remains a perennial issue for family enterprises. Yet, the long-term mindset and commitment to the legacy calls for enterprise owners to plan ahead of time in grooming talents within the family who can ultimately contribute to regenerating success and legacy.

Essentially, the next-generation leaders would often find themselves wrestling with the option of working for the family firm and finding their leadership path for the generations to come. There is also the challenge of finding the right balance between inspiring entrepreneurial orientation, portfolio diversification, building resilience through new ventures and partnerships while protecting the culture and values of the family that maintain the family legacy and business growth.

Join us at the INSEAD Singapore Campus for the Family Enterprise Day as we glean insights from academic experts, distinguished family enterprise guest speakers and MBA panelists to uncover some of the leading practices in empowering next generation in their transition into the family businesses today. Engage with us for a stimulating exchange on:

  • Leading practices in planning for next generation transition
  • Fostering sustainability and corporate venturing to build resilience in family firms
  • Renewing leadership with next generation – challenges and pitfalls
  • Leveraging next generation can be game changer in revitalizing traditional business

The event is opened exclusively for members of family businesses, INSEAD MBA/MIM students, FBN members, and member families of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Limited seats are allocated for third-party service providers to family enterprises who are invited by a member of a family business to ensure an atmosphere of trust and confidentiality applying Chatham house rule.

We welcome all registered participants to an inspiring half day conference of learning and exchange!

For any additional information, feel free to contact us directly at [email protected].

* Note: This conference is conducted fully on-campus. In the interest of confidentiality, the event will not be recorded.
