Biography
Dr. Yupana Wiwattanakantang is a tenured Associate Professor at NUS Business School, National University of Singapore. She also serves on the board of the European Corporate Governance Institute (EGCI).
Dr. Yupana’s teaching and research are in the area of entrepreneurial finance, corporate strategy and governance as well as succession planning of family enterprises. She has published her research in top tier journals namely the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Review of Finance, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. Her research has also been featured in international media, such as the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Economist, Bloomberg, Independent (UK), Nikkei (Japan), Business Times, and Strait Times (Singapore).
She has supervised students’ consulting projects on Wealth Management, FinTech, Meditech, e-commerce, cyber security, Cloud IT, and sustainability for consulting companies, banks, start-ups, and VCs in Singapore, namely PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, UOB, OCBC, TNB Aura, Google, and Ninja Van.
Before joining NUS, Yupana spent almost 20 years in Tokyo. Until 2010, she was a professor at the Institute of Economic Research of Hitotsubashi University, where she also earned her PhD degree.
