INSEAD named a top school for startup founders in PitchBook 2021 ranking

INSEAD, the business school for the world, announced today that it has been ranked as one of the top schools for startup founders in the categories of ‘Top MBA programme’ and ‘Top MBA programme for female founders’, by PitchBook’s annual ranking of universities.

INSEAD advanced one spot from 2020 to rank #4 this year in the ‘Top 25 MBA programme’ category with 762 founders and 685 companies/startups with US$23.1B raised. The school was ranked #6 in the same category in 2019.

The school maintained its #7 position in the category of ‘Top 25 MBA programme for female founders’ with 82 women founders and 77 companies/startups with US$972M raised.

These achievements are testament to the school’s continued success in producing successful entrepreneurs. INSEAD’s four locations in France, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and San Francisco offers students a global perspective on entrepreneurship. Within the school’s progammes, participants have the freedom to choose from an extensive range of entrepreneurship electives.

Students also have access to The Rudolf and Valeria Maag INSEAD Centre for Entrepreneurship that offers resources and assistance for new ventures, start-up bootcamps, venture competitions and the Entrepreneurs-in-Residence programme. The INSEAD LaunchPad (alumni start-up accelerator), entrepreneurship forums and mentorship programmes also contribute to the school’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Every year, PitchBook ranks the most entrepreneurial schools around the world by the number of venture capital-backed founders that count among their alumni. The 2021 rankings are based on the number of founders whose companies received a first round of venture funding between Jan. 1, 2006 and Oct. 31, 2021.  The ranking also includes top schools for female founders across undergraduate and MBA programmes. All data on entrepreneurs, companies and capital raised is sourced from the PitchBook platform.
