Andrew Shipilov is a Professor of Strategy and the John H Loudon Chair of International Management at INSEAD.
He is an expert in the areas of strategy, innovation, and ecosystems. His current academic research examines how ecosystems, platforms, and partnerships affect firms’ competitive advantage. He is a member of INSEAD Board as well as on the advisory board of an AI start up in the energy sector.
Andrew has written a book “Network Advantage: How to Unlock Value from Your Alliances and Partnerships” as well as multiple Harvard Business Review (HBR) and MIT Sloan Management review articles on such topics as AI, digital transformation, partnerships and ecosystems. His article “Digital Doesn’t Have to be Disruptive” has been recognized as HBR's 10 Must Reads on Change Management.
At INSEAD, he teaches and directs Executive Education program on competitive strategy, collaborative strategy (Managing Partnerships and Strategic Alliances), and Blue Ocean Strategy. Andrew is also leading INSEAD's flagship International Directors' Program for the Middle East.
He has worked with such companies as Ericsson, Google, Infineon, Bertelsmann, Microsoft, and ArcelorMittal. Andrew also advised the Abu Dhabi Department of Government Enablement.
In 2014, Andrew received a prestigious Emerging Scholar Award from the Strategic Management Society.
