Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour

Gianpiero Petriglieri is Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour at INSEAD and an expert on leadership and learning in the workplace. He directs the Management Acceleration Programme , the school’s flagship Executive Education programme for emerging leaders, and is the Academic Director of the INSEAD Initiative for Learning Innovation and Teaching Excellence . Gianpiero's award-winning research and teaching focus on what it means, and what it takes, to become a leader. He is particularly interested in the development of responsible leadership in the age of "nomadic professionalism," in which more and more people have deep bonds to work but loose affiliations to institutions, and authenticity and mobility have replaced loyalty and advancement as hallmarks of virtue and success. Gianpiero's research has appeared in leading academic journals such as the Administrative Science Quarterly , Academy of Management Annals , Academy of Management Journal , Academy of Management Learning & Education , Organization Studies and Organization Theory . He also writes essays regularly for the Harvard Business Review and Sloan Management Review . His work has been featured in a range of media including the BBC , Financial Times , The Economist , The Guardian , New York Times , Wall Street Journal , Washington Post , Le Figaro , El Pais , and he is listed among the 50 most influential management thinkers in the world by Thinkers50 . Building on this research, Gianpiero has refined a unique approach to experiential learning that aims to accelerate the development of individual leaders as well as to strengthen those leader's bonds with communities within and beyond their organisations. Alongside the Management Acceleration Programme, he designs and directs customized leadership programmes for multinationals in a variety of industries. He also speaks widely on how to lead and learn "on the move" without losing one's roots. In the INSEAD MBA, Gianpiero teaches the core course "Ethics: Value-based leadership for cosmopolitans," for which he has received the Aspen Institute "Ideas Worth Teaching" award. Prior to that, he taught the "Leading People and Groups" core course for five years, receiving the students' Outstanding Teacher Award. He has earned numerous Dean's Commendations for Teaching Excellence in MBA and Executive Education, and his executive programmes have received industry-wide awards for excellence and innovation in executive education. A Medical Doctor and Pyschiatrist by training, Gianpiero has worked as an executive coach, practiced as a psychotherapist, and served on the staff of group relations conferences in Europe and the United States. He has held Visiting Professor positions at the Harvard Business School and at the Copenhagen Business School. Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour

Henrik Bresman is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour at INSEAD and a recognized expert on leadership, high-performance teams, and organizational change. He regularly works with companies and public-sector organizations embarking on large-scale transformations. Professor Bresman’s research draws on data from multiple contexts, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, software development, healthcare, and government. His work has appeared in leading academic and practice journals, such as the Academy of Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, and Organization Science, as well as many media outlets, including the Economist, Financial Times, Forbes, the New York Times, Time, and the Wall Street Journal. He is the co-author of the book X-Teams: How to Build Teams that Lead, Innovate, and Succeed (Harvard Business Review Press, 2023), which examines how teams at all levels can take on strategic leadership roles and change the direction of their organizations. Professor Bresman’s teaching focuses on developing leaders for an exponentially changing world. He directs INSEAD’s flagship general management program for emerging leaders, the Management Acceleration Program, and the senior executive program, Leading for Results. Before entering academia, Professor Bresman worked in several roles as a manager, management consultant, and entrepreneur. He co-founded a venture capital firm focused on early-stage technology businesses. He is an experienced board member and keynote speaker. Bresman holds a BS and an MS in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics and a PhD in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a Fulbright scholar.

Jennifer Petriglieri

Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour

Jennifer Petriglieri is an Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour at INSEAD. She directs the Executive Education Management Acceleration Programme, the Women Leaders Programme, The Leadership Transition and the Advancing Diversity and Inclusion Programme. An award-winning researcher and teacher, she was shortlisted for the Talent award in 2017 and shortlisted for the Radar New Thinker award in 2015 by Thinkers50, the ranking of the most influential management authors in the world. She was also included among the world's best 40 business school professors under 40 by Poets & Quants. Her research investigates how individuals craft and sustain their personal and professional identities in contexts characterised by high uncertainty, such as mobile careers or organisations and professions in crisis. Her writing has appeared in the Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Learning & Education, and the Journal of Organizational Change Management. It has also been featured in the Business Week and the Harvard Business Review. She is the author of a book entitled Couples That Work, which explores how working couples can thrive in love and in work. Jennifer has long been involved in experiential leadership development initiatives for multinationals from a variety of industries. Her work in this domain pays particular attention to the interplay between individual's life stories and group memberships and their decision-making and professional style in leadership roles. A British citizen, Jennifer earned a PhD in Organisational Behaviour from INSEAD. She also holds an MBA from IMD, Switzerland, and a BSc in genetics from Nottingham University, UK. Prior to joining INSEAD, she was a Post-Doctoral Fellow of Organisational Behaviour at the Harvard Business School. Having lived and worked on three continents, she is now settled in France with her husband and two children.
