Before founding her nature-tech company, Megan worked as an electrical engineer in Silicon Valley, focused on electromagnetic systems and hardware design. But her mind often turned to climate change - and the role the private sector could play in solving it.
“I kept thinking about how to create change from within,” she recalls. “How could the private sector evolve to align financial outcomes with social and environmental goals? I didn’t want to just suggest green initiatives; I wanted to influence the system.”
She pitched sustainability ideas at her tech company, but while her proposals were welcomed, they weren’t pursued. Megan realised she needed the tools to make a stronger case - to think strategically and speak the language of leadership. That realisation led her to INSEAD.
“I came to INSEAD to better understand sustainability in a business context,” she says. “But I came away with something much deeper. The experience shaped how I think and how I lead … it changed me.”
Megan thrived in INSEAD’s global community. The international classroom, diverse perspectives, and open exchange of ideas broadened her outlook. She joined INDEVOR and helped lay the groundwork for what would later become the Hoffmann Global Institute. Along the way, a new spark was lit: the desire to become an entrepreneur.
“I didn’t come to INSEAD for entrepreneurship,” she admits. “But being in that environment gave me the confidence to try. It made me feel like anything was possible.”
She launched her first startup in Asia, followed by a role in banking where she supported early-stage ventures. Drawing on all those experiences, she founded Dunya Analytics - her second startup.
Dunya is a SaaS platform that helps companies identify nature-related financial risks and opportunities across their operations and supply chains. It’s based on the belief that business can - and must - drive positive environmental and social change.
“We’re at the beginning of a modern industrial revolution,” Megan says. “Companies need the tools to transition. That’s what we offer - not just data, but the ability to act meaningfully.”
Dunya reflects values Megan holds close: empowerment, humility, and non-judgement. “Every company can start its journey to becoming nature-positive,” she adds. “It’s not about where you are now, it’s about where you want to go.”
At ChangeNOW, Megan was in her element, exchanging ideas, inspiring action, and connecting with people from every corner of society. “That’s how change happens,” she says. “When individuals, businesses, and communities come together.”
Through her journey from Silicon Valley to INSEAD and beyond, Megan embodies the INSEAD mission: “developing responsible leaders who transform business and society”.
