Nami Nguyen MBA’26J, INSEAD Scholarship recipient, is driven by a deeply personal ambition: to shape the future of food at the intersection of health, nutrition, and global leadership.
Raised in a small seaside town in Vietnam, Nami grew up in a household where education was a priority above all else. Her mother, a primary school teacher, instilled in her the belief that learning could open doors far beyond their circumstances. That conviction guided Nami from an early age — first leaving home at 14 to pursue stronger academic opportunities, and later funding her own university studies by working multiple jobs while completing her degree on an accelerated timeline.
But her passion for food and health is also personal. Living with anemia and a seafood allergy in a country known for its coastal cuisine, she became acutely aware of how nutrition shapes wellbeing. “I’m very passionate about making food healthier — but still enjoyable,” she shares. “Food should nourish people and improve quality of life.”
Choosing to pursue an MBA at INSEAD was a bold step. It meant stepping away from her career and investing in a global education that would allow her to expand her scope and understand how international companies shape the future of the food industry.
“After INSEAD, I would love to step into a leadership role in a global consumer goods company within the food sector,” she explains. “I want to understand how global players are shaping the future of food — especially at the intersection of health and nutrition.”
In the long term, her ambition goes further. She hopes to launch her own venture in the food industry, leveraging technology to develop healthier, more accessible nutrition solutions. For Nami, innovation in food is not just about products — it is about impact.
