Biography

Juan joined INSEAD as a Predoctoral Researcher in December 2025. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Development from the Paris School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Los Andes (Colombia).

In his master’s thesis, he studied how different dimensions of social capital influence economic outcomes within a community-driven development program in rural Colombia. He also has experience working as a research assistant and consultant for academic researchers, international organizations, and private institutions.

At INSEAD, Juan is currently working with Professors Dylan Glover, Lin Tian, and Pushan Dutt on the projects “Agricultural Machine Subsidy and Intra-Household Division of Labor,” “Sanctions and Ghost Fleets,” and “Labor Markets and Inequality.” Juan is interested in topics related to development economics, applied microeconomics, and impact evaluation.
