Leaders from around the world convene on INSEAD’s Asia campus to discuss global shifts in the wake of the financial crisis
INSEAD, the leading international business school, today announced its 3rd Annual Leadership Summit Asia will take place on 6 November 2009 at the school’s Asia campus based in Singapore. More than 300 global leaders from business, government, media and academia will come together to discuss the lessons learned from the financial crisis and new models that will influence the future shape of business. The Summit will also mark the Asia launch of INSEAD’s 50th anniversary celebrations, which will run for the 2009-2010 academic year.
‘As cautious optimism returns to the world’s markets, business leaders must be prepared to rise and seize opportunities,’ said J. Frank Brown, Dean of INSEAD. ‘INSEAD’s Leadership Summits are driving the global business agenda by providing a unique forum to exchange ideas and develop strategies that leaders can leverage within their organisations to institute real change.’
The main plenary sessions will focus on several critical issues, including a finance roundtable discussion in which panellists including Jaspal Bindra, CEO Asia, Standard Chartered Bank, and Timothy Condon, Managing Director and Head of Research at ING Financial Markets, will debate the implications of government action to stabilise financial institutions and the economy.
Additional panels throughout the day will focus on the topic of game-changing innovation and address how CEOs of global firms are responding to the challenge. Business leaders from multinational companies such as General Electric and Booz & Co., along with INSEAD Professor of Innovation and Strategy, Peter Zemsky, will share their perspectives about the innovation imperative.
The topic of government control in business will also be brought to the forefront in a session moderated by Nik Gowing of BBC World News. A panel of experts from business, government and academia will discuss the impact of governmental control over malfunctioning sectors of the economy and the ever-increasing presence of governments in the business world.
Sessions will be led by more than 20 speakers and INSEAD faculty members. Hosted by INSEAD Dean J. Frank Brown, the Summit will offer thought-provoking panel discussions facilitated by leaders such as Tanri Abeng, Chairman, PT.
