INSEAD, the leading international Business School, today announced that ifs School of Finance will continue to award six individual MBA scholarships per year for the next five years for candidates to attend the one year full-time MBA programme at INSEAD. The scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis until 2012 under the Henry Grunfeld Foundation, which is administered by the ifs School of Finance.
Henri Grunfeld co-founded investment bank S.G. Warburg with Siegmund Warburg in 1946.S.G. Warburg became part of UBS in the mid-90’s but Grunfeld continued to work for the bank until he died, aged 95, in 1999. Grunfeld established his Foundation in the 1990s with the aim of providing scholarships to those who worked in the City of London and had a demonstrable commitment to investment banking. Each scholarship is worth up to 12,500 Euros and preference is shown to those in financial need.
Martin Day, Director of Higher Education and Executive Development at the ifs School of Finance explained the purpose of the scholarship : “We have been administering the Henry Grunfeld Foundation for 10 years now and are delighted to confirm our continuing commitment to provide INSEAD scholarships for another 5 years. These scholarships open up tremendous opportunities for those who otherwise may not have access to such a prestigious MBA programme.”
