Large Language Models as Tools for Integrative Reviews

Journal Article
The article discusses the potential of large language models (LLMs) to enhance the literature review process for management scholars by serving as collaborative tools in integrative reviews. It highlights how LLMs can assist in identifying thematic patterns, tracing the evolution of ideas over time, and simulating hypothesis testing within academic literature. While acknowledging the limitations of LLMs, the article emphasizes the importance of careful documentation and transparency in their application to ensure that the analyses remain grounded in scholarly rigor. Ultimately, it proposes that LLMs can facilitate a more nuanced understanding of complex fields by augmenting human expertise rather than replacing it.
