The programme shifted my perspective by positioning resilience as a financial decision, not just an operational one.
1. What inspired you to join this programme, and what did you hope to achieve?
As a senior leader responsible for supply chain performance, I joined the programme to strengthen my ability to balance resilience and efficiency while protecting financial value. Throughout my career across biotech, FMCG and medtech, I have seen how supply chain decisions directly affect costs, margins, customer satisfaction and supplier trust.
I was looking for frameworks that would help me justify supply chain decisions not only from an operational perspective, but also in terms of the financial value they create for the organisation. Specifically, I wanted to deepen my understanding of how to build stronger supply chains and governance structures, improve stakeholder alignment and cross-functional collaboration, and bring greater clarity and reliability to complex operating environments. My goal was to sharpen my thinking on resilience, digital enablement, and the trade-offs between efficiency and robustness so that I could bring greater structure and long-term value back to my organisation.
2. In what ways has the programme shifted your perspective or influenced your approach to work?
The programme shifted my perspective by framing resilience as a financial decision rather than simply an operational one. It reinforced the idea that resilience, sustainability and value creation should be designed together, rather than treated as separate priorities.
I now think more deliberately about how data, AI and governance can support faster and more effective decision-making across decentralised networks, as well as the conditions required to make this possible. This is particularly important when decisions affect costs, risk exposure and margins. In practice, the programme has made me more disciplined in linking supply chain decisions to customer impact, operating model design and the financial value delivered to the organisation, particularly through improvements in free cash flow.
3. Which aspects of the experience stood out most for you (faculty, peers, content, format)?
What stood out most was the combination of outstanding faculty, rich peer discussions and highly practical content. The faculty brought structure and clarity to complex topics, making supply chain trade-offs tangible through real-world cases and strategic frameworks.
The peer group was equally valuable, bringing together leaders from procurement, operations, logistics and transformation functions across a broad range of industries and business contexts. This diversity enriched the discussions and challenged established ways of thinking. The programme format was also particularly effective: intensive enough to maintain focus and momentum, while allowing sufficient time for reflection and practical application back in the workplace.
4. Can you describe a moment or insight that particularly resonated with you?
One insight that strongly resonated with me was the idea that resilience is not the opposite of efficiency, but rather a design choice that must be managed consciously. This reflected my own experience in highly regulated and global environments, where standardisation is essential but flexibility remains critical.
The programme helped me connect process harmonisation, digital adoption and the practical need to maintain responsive supply chains. What made this insight especially powerful was its direct relevance to investment decisions and the trade-offs organisations must make between cost, risk and financial value.
5. Would you recommend this programme to others? If so, what makes it meaningful to you?
Yes, I would strongly recommend this programme. What makes it particularly meaningful is that it goes beyond tools and terminology and encourages senior leaders to think more strategically about how supply chains drive business performance, resilience and transformation.
For professionals working in procurement, operations or supply chain leadership, it provides a robust framework for making better decisions in increasingly complex environments. It is particularly valuable for navigating the competing demands of customer expectations, ESG considerations, digital transformation, network complexity and financial performance.
For me, the programme sharpened my strategic perspective and strengthened my ability to make more deliberate decisions that protect and enhance long-term value for the organisation.
