Biography
Martin Kilduff (PhD Cornell, 1988) is Professor of Organizational Behavior at the UCL School of Management, Director of Research, and head of the Organizations and Innovation Group.
Martin is a former editor of Academy of Management Review (2006-08), former associate editor of Administrative Science Quarterly (2003-2005, 2010-2016), and is immediate past Chair of the Organization and Management Theory Division of the Academy of Management. Prior to joining UCL, he was the Diageo Professor of Organizational Behavior at Cambridge University, and previously held positions at INSEAD, Penn State, and University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on the micro-foundations and consequences of individuals' social networks.
Recent empirical research investigates: the effects of network connections on the creativity, popularity, and survival of jazz bands in New York City (Academy of Management Discoveries); the effects of genetics and environment on gender differences in brokerage (Organization Science); the burnout and collegial abuse consequences of brokering (Organization Science, forthcoming); and the benefits and drawbacks of multiplex ties for leaders of teams (Journal of Applied Psychology, 2022).
