Accessibility Statement - insead.edu
This accessibility statement applies to: https://www.insead.edu
INSEAD is committed to making https://www.insead.edu accessible in accordance with the European Accessibility Act.
Status
This website is partially compliant with the Act on the Accessibility of Certain Products and Services due to the non-compliances described below.
Currently Non-Accessible Content
Difficult to use the page without scrolling sideways
Some parts of the website require you to scroll both sideways and up and down at the same time, especially on smaller screens. This happens because certain sections are not fully adapted to different screen sizes. For example, content blocks may extend beyond the screen instead of adjusting automatically.
This can affect people who use mobile phones, people who zoom in to read, and people with low vision.
Not all parts of the website can be used with a keyboard
You cannot access all menus, buttons, and functions using only a keyboard. Some dropdowns, filters, and interactive elements cannot be reached or used without a mouse or touchscreen.
This can affect people who cannot use a mouse, for example people with motor impairments or those who rely on keyboard navigation.
It is hard to see where you are when using the keyboard
When navigating with a keyboard, it is often unclear which link or button is currently selected. In some cases, there is no visible focus indicator at all, or the focused element is hidden.
This can affect people who use keyboard navigation, including people with visual impairments.
Some links do not explain where they lead
There are links without text or with unclear purpose. In some cases, links are completely empty.
This can affect people who use screen readers, as they rely on link text to understand where a link leads.
Text and buttons can be hard to see
Some text and interface elements have too low contrast against the background. This makes them difficult to read.
This can affect people with low vision, colour vision deficiencies, or those using the website in bright environments.
Links are only shown using colour
Some links are only distinguishable by colour and do not have additional visual indicators such as underlines.
This can affect people who have difficulty perceiving colour differences.
Headings and structure are unclear
The structure of headings on several pages is inconsistent. Some headings are missing, empty, or used incorrectly. In other cases, text that looks like a heading is not coded as one.
This can affect people who use screen readers or navigate using headings to understand the structure of a page.
Lists, paragraphs, and quotes are not marked correctly
Lists, paragraphs, and quotes are sometimes not coded properly. For example, lists are created without list elements, and paragraphs are separated using line breaks instead of proper structure.
This can affect people using assistive technologies, as the content structure becomes unclear.
Important information is shown as images
Some images contain text that is not available in any other way. In addition, some images have missing or unclear descriptions.
This can affect people who use screen readers or those who cannot see images clearly.
Forms are difficult to understand and use
Forms on the website have several issues. Some fields are missing labels or clear instructions, and some are not properly connected to their descriptions. Custom-built form elements do not behave as expected and cannot always be used with a keyboard.
This can affect people who use assistive technologies, people with cognitive difficulties, or those who rely on keyboard navigation.
Tables are not structured correctly
Some tables are used for layout instead of data, and others are missing proper headings and descriptions.
This can affect people using screen readers, as it becomes difficult to understand how the information is organised.
Expandable content does not communicate its state
Some sections that can be expanded or collapsed do not indicate whether they are open or closed in the code.
This can affect people using assistive technologies, who rely on this information to understand how the page works.
Embedded content is missing descriptions
Videos and other embedded content do not always include a clear description of their purpose.
This can affect people using screen readers who need this information to understand what the content is.
Documents are not fully accessible
Some documents, such as PDFs, are not structured correctly. They are missing tags that define headings and content structure.
This can affect people who use assistive technologies to read documents.
Parts of the content are in the wrong language setting
Some sections of the website are written in a different language than the rest of the page but are not marked correctly in the code.
This can affect people using screen readers, as the text may be read with the wrong pronunciation.
How We Tested Accessibility
The evaluation was conducted by independent experts from Funka International. The website was assessed using manual testing and assistive technologies against EN 301 549 and WCAG 2.2, levels A and AA.
