JongHyun completed his undergraduate and Master's studies at Korea University. During his undergraduate studies, he was especially interested in the quantitative approach to business problems and established a Business Analytics student group in the Korea University Business School. He was elected as a BA-MS integrated program student and proceeded to a master’s degree. With his analytical background, his master's thesis employed a natural language processing method to approach the firm scope literature, and he had the opportunity to present his work at the SMS 44th Annual Conference and the AOM 85th Annual Conference. His current research interest lies in how the adaptability of an organisation to a dynamic environment is enhanced, focusing on firm scope and organisational design
