Under the patronage of H.E. Sh. Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Mumtalakat concludes the second editon of its corporate governance training for Directors

 

  

Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (“Mumtalakat”), concluded today its second Mumtalakat-INSEAD Directors Programme (MIDP), after the completion of three intensive modules from November 2015 to February 2016. The awards ceremony took place at Mumtalakat’s offices under the patronage of His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister & Chairman of Mumtalakat.

Developed by the renowned INSEAD Business School and tailored to meet Mumtalakat’s objectives, the training was conducted for Mumtalakat’s directors and the representative directors appointed to the boards of its portfolio companies and focused on the latest developments of corporate governance, as well as the tools and processes to enable them to introduce best practices at their respective companies. The Programme Director was the internationally renowned Ludo Van der Heyden, The INSEAD Chaired Professor of Corporate Governance and Academic Director of INSEAD Corporate Governance Initiative.

During the ceremony, H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa handed out the programme certificates awarded to the directors. Mr. Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji, CEO of Mumtalakat delivered the closing remarks for the course in which he thanked the organisers and participants, and emphasised Mumtalakat’s commitment towards achieving the highest standards of corporate governance and transparency.

Commenting on the training programme, Mr. Mahmood Al Kooheji, said: “We are very pleased to have successfully completed the second edition of Mumtalakat-INSEAD Directors programme, and would like to extend our sincere gratitude to H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, for his support, vision, and patronage of the programme. We would also like to thank Professor Ludo Van der Heyden and the entire INSEAD team for agreeing to come to Bahrain to offer the program and to customize this unique programme to the governance needs of Mumtalakat and its asset companies.”
