in Fifth Annual International Business AwardsSM
INSEAD, the international business school, has won an International Stevie Award for Best Homepage in the website category of The 2008 International Business Awards, a global, business awards programme honouring great performances in business.
Recipients of International Stevie Award trophies were selected from over 1,700 entries received from businesses, in more than 30 countries.
‘It is a great honour to have received this prize in a competition that included so many leading international companies,’ said Axel Tagliavini, Associate Director, Corporate Communications. ‘It encourages us to continue to expand and develop our website and to take it to the next level.’
Businesses can enter in any of more than 40 categories from Best Multinational Company and Best New Product to Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program and Best Executive.
Members of the awards' board of judges and advisors and their staffs selected the winners from among a group of finalists, who were determined during two months of preliminary judging by volunteer judges around the world.
The other finalists in the Best Homepage category included, among others, Accenture, USA, and SK Energy, Korea, and INSEAD’s thought leadership platform INSEAD Knowledge, which promotes faculty research.
Nicknamed the Stevie® for the Greek word ‘crowned,’ the awards were presented to winners at a gala dinner on 8 September in the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. Primary sponsors for the event were Dow Jones and IDA Ireland.
‘Entries to the IBAs grew 65 percent this year and that illustrates the increasing importance of The International Business Awards worldwide,’ said Michael Gallagher, president of The Stevie Awards. ‘We congratulate all of the finalists and International Stevie Awards winners, and were delighted to honour them for their achievements at our gala awards dinner in Dublin.’
