As a Programme Partner, INSEAD joins a select group of global institutions committed to delivering the highest standards in finance education
INSEAD, the leading international business school, today announced it has joined an elite group of global academic institutions by becoming a Programme Partner with CFA Institute, the international association for investment professionals. The CFA Programme Partner Initiative recognises select colleges, universities and business schools from around the world that have incorporated a significant percentage of the CFA Programme Candidate Body of Knowledge in their degree programmes. INSEAD’s MBA programme was selected for being academically rigorous and closely aligned to professional practice.
The CFA Programme Partnership will benefit INSEAD’s current and prospective students by exposing them to the concepts and principles that are integral to global practice in the investment industry. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to hear guest speakers from the CFA Institute who will deliver lectures on campus. The partnership also allows INSEAD students the opportunity to receive scholarships to undertake the CFA Institute qualification.
‘At INSEAD, we are deeply committed to developing global business leaders with high professional and ethical standards,’ said J. Frank Brown, Dean of INSEAD. ‘We are honoured to receive this recognition from a world-renowned body such as the CFA Institute and join such an exclusive group of academic institutions which are part of this initiative.’
To become a CFA charterholder candidates must complete a rigorous course of study and pass three sequential examinations that test not only their understanding of the curriculum but also their ability to synthesize complex investment principles and apply financial instruments in a professional manner. Those students who are trained in the Candidate Body of Knowledge while they are enrolled in degree programs will be well-equipped to successfully master the CFA Programme curriculum.
‘This designation is a true testament to the Finance curriculum at INSEAD which thoroughly prepares students for the demands of the investment industry,’ said Jake Cohen, Accounting and Business Law Professor and Dean of INSEAD’s MBA Programme. ‘The CFA partnership underscores our commitment to delivering the highest academic standards for our programme participants.’
Theo Vermaelen, Schroders Professor of Finance and Asset Management at INSEAD, who has been working with the CFA Institute to obtain the Programme Partnership, added: ‘This recognition shows that INSEAD is not just a general management school but a place where you can also specialize in finance.’
