INSEAD launches executive education programme to make sense of the world’s financial turmoil

‘Deciphering the Crisis: From Understanding to Advantage’

What immediate steps can be taken to decipher the crisis that has affected every aspect of the global economy? How must business strategy evolve to minimise the effects? Are organisations well-positioned to capitalise on opportunities? To make sense of the barrage of conflicting information about the downturn, INSEAD has brought together four of its most experienced members of faculty, who are renowned experts in the areas of Economics, Finance, Marketing, and Strategy: Professors Ilian Mihov, Kevin Kaiser, V. (Paddy) Padmanabhan,Subramanian Rangan. Together, they will teach the new INSEAD Executive Education programme entitled, ‘Deciphering the Crisis: From Understanding to Advantage.’
These professors have produced a wealth of articles and working papers, which have been published in the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal and other respected business titles. During the two-day, intensive programme they will address the key issues in this unfolding global challenge, supported by the latest research and software simulations.

Deciphering the Crisis: From Understanding to Advantage will take place at the INSEAD campus in Fontainebleau, France on 12 and 13 May 2009. There will be four sessions:

  • Understanding: How has the global economy changed?
  • Activation: How does ‘managing for value’ build long-term success?
  • Adaptation: Why is sector-specific marketing essential to survival?
  • Advantage: Can ‘liberal capitalism’ exist in the new global economy?

This programme will help leaders who are still trying to decipher the crisis and understand how it will affect their organisation, or who are seeking practical advice on how to capitalise on opportunities as the global economy recovers, to:

  • Take immediate steps to strengthen their company’s bottom line through traditional cash generation and alternative techniques for survival.
  • Assess the likely impact of the recession on their business and the immediate future for different industries, based on comprehensive research and real-life case studies.
  • Identify and build sustainable competitive advantages and create real value in the eyes of customers.
  • Predict the evolution of the global, post-recession economy, with a view to anticipating and managing renewed demand.

The programme has been priced at €850, which includes tuition, accommodation and most meals.
