Global leaders to gather for an exclusive programme on revitalising economic growth
INSEAD, the leading international business school, today announced its 4th Annual Leadership Summit Europe will take place on 14 May 2010 at the school’s Europe campus in Fontainebleau, France. Over 600 leaders from business, academia, government, media and the social sector will attend the Summit for a full-day programme on revitalising economic growth.
The Summit, supported by lead sponsor Booz & Company and broadcast media partner CNBC, will focus on lessons learned from the financial crisis and actions that both public and private organisations can take to create jobs and drive economic prosperity. Programme sessions will also examine the important role that entrepreneurship, private equity, and governance and innovation can play in fostering economic growth. CNBC anchor Geoff Cutmore will broadcast live from the event during the morning sessions.
‘As leaders converge from around the world to join us for our Leadership Summit Europe, we’re also celebrating an important milestone in INSEAD’s history,’ said J. Frank Brown, Dean of INSEAD. ‘This year marks INSEAD 50th anniversary and we are honoured to have such a prominent group of leaders with us to commemorate this event, including a large number of INSEAD alumni. The 2010 Summit will undoubtedly provide insightful dialogue and innovative thinking for organisations in both the public and private sector to initiate positive changes.’
The Summit will begin with an opening dialogue from Dean Brown and welcome remarks from Franz Humer, Chairman of Roche Holding Ltd, Chairman of Diageo Plc, and Chairman, INSEAD Board of Directors; and Claude Janssen, Honorary Chairman of the INSEAD Board and Chairman of INSEAD’s International Council.
‘Current economic challenges can only be addressed through close co-operation and sharing of ideas and expertise between private sector, public sector and academia. INSEAD is extremely well suited to play a major role here! This is the reason why Booz & Company is supporting this historic event and why INSEAD is a core school for our MBA recruiting’, said Neil McArthur, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Europe at Booz & Company.
Several interactive panel discussions will follow, including a session on ‘The Architecture of the New Economy.’ The panel will include thoughts from speakers such as Antonio Fatas, Professor of Economics at INSEAD; Shanti L. Poesposoetjipto, Chief Executive Officer, PT Ngrumat Bondo Utomo; Ernest-Antoine Seillière, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Wendel Group; and Lord Simon of Highbury CBE, Director GDF Suez, and Former British Minister for Trade and Competitiveness in Europe, and Former Chairman of British Petroleum.
Three parallel tracks on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Governance, and Private Equity will also take place as part of the programme. The sessions will be led by INSEAD professors Philip Anderson, Ludo Van der Heyden, Soumitra Dutta and Claudia Zeisberger, respectively.
A closing panel session moderated by Dean Brown on ‘Leading into the Future’ will include remarks from Adam Goldstein, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International; François Hériard Dubreuil, Chairman & CEO, Orpar and Chairman INSEAD Foundation; Jean-Claude Larréché, The Alfred H.
