INSEAD Alumni organise global healthcare summit

Senior healthcare experts and INSEAD alumni to address the future of the industry

INSEAD, the leading international business school, today announced that its alumni will host the INSEAD Healthcare Alumni Summit on 8 October 2009 in Basel, Switzerland. Coordinated by the INSEAD Healthcare Alumni Network, the Summit will draw over 150 participants, including INSEAD alumni from more than a dozen different countries and senior healthcare industry experts. Several key topics will be addressed such as: Reinventing Healthcare Innovation; Key Trends in Consumer Healthcare; and Healthcare Businesses in the Age of Globalisation.

The conference will feature a range of speakers from Europe, the United States, Africa and India. Dr. Elizabeth Teisberg, healthcare advisor to the U.S. Senate, will give the keynote presentation on value-based healthcare, while pharmaceutical strategist Roger Longman from Windhover will present his perspective on the future of the healthcare industry.

The conference plenary sessions will address a broad range of topics from ‘Successful Innovation within a Post-Merger Environment’ and ‘Public-Private Partnerships to Fight Deadly Diseases’ to ‘Social Media and Web 2.0 in Healthcare’ and ‘Bringing Medical Technologies to the World.’ An advanced audience response system will allow all attendants to actively participate by answering questions on voting keypads and observing the results immediately. Additionally, there will be professionals twittering and blogging from the conference so those unable to attend can still follow the discussions in real-time.

‘The INSEAD Healthcare Alumni Summit 2009 falls at a timely moment as we begin to celebrate INSEAD’s 50th anniversary and half a century of success,’ said J. Frank Brown, Dean of INSEAD. ‘We hope that this Summit will be the first of many annual events which will bring INSEAD alumni and other healthcare executives together to share ideas and build better networks.’

Dr. Stephen Chick, Director of the INSEAD Healthcare Management Initiative, added, ‘This Summit will gather some of the top minds in the healthcare industry to discuss the most relevant topics which will undoubtedly affect the future of the healthcare industry. We are honoured to welcome such an exclusive group of healthcare luminaries and INSEAD alumni from around the world.’
