The agreement, signed 20 April, marks the first time that this INSEAD Masters of Entrepreneurial Leadership has been launched anywhere in the world.
Starting in October, up to 25 participants will begin 14 weeks of modular work spread over approximately 18 months. The Masters of Entrepreneurial Leadership will be delivered at INSEAD’s Centre for Executive Education and Research in Abu Dhabi (http://www.insead.edu/campuses/middle-east) as well as on the school’s Asia and Europe campuses.
The integrated curriculum pulls together the key pillars to success, including modules focusing on entrepreneurship, leadership and business skills.
His Excellency Ali Al Ketbi, DCS Undersecretary, said: ‘The combination of concepts and practice, with leading-edge academic content delivered by renowned thought leaders, will provide Abu Dhabi’s globally-minded leaders of the future with some unique insights and experience.’
Explaining the significance of the event, INSEAD Dean J. Frank Brown said: ‘This unique partnership with the Department of Civil Service features an intensive learning experience led by our world class faculty with a Middle East focus, to promote the skills, capabilities and entrepreneurial acumen for Abu Dhabi and, eventually we hope, the rest of the Arab world.’
INSEAD opened its Centre in Abu Dhabi last September and is already offering executive education programmes including both open-enrolment as well as customised company-specific programmes to a number of local and regional companies across the Middle East.
The signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ali Al Ketbi, DCS Undersecretary; Omar Bamhadaf, DCS Assistant Undersecretary; INSEAD Dean Frank Brown; Peter Jädersten, Executive Director of the INSEAD Abu Dhabi Centre; and Antoine Ting, INSEAD Principal Director, Executive Education, Asia Pacific and Middle East.
