EXPLORES HOW 'DISRUPTIVE COLLABORATION' WILL SHAPE THE FUTURE OF MEDICAL TREATMENT
Top international experts from the healthcare industry will convene in Zürich, Switzerland, for an annual conference hosted by INSEAD, the prestigious global business school.
The INSEAD Healthcare Alumni Summit, now in its fifth year, will take place on Oct. 24 and 25 at the Zürich Stock Exchange, providing an interactive forum for the school’s alumni and senior executives from around the world to discuss the future of healthcare. In particular, participants will focus on “Disruptive Collaboration” and examples of innovative partnerships that are altering the industry.
The Summit features diverse keynote presentations, panel discussions and workshops, as well as a showcase for healthcare entrepreneurs. Experts from pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics, medical devices, healthcare IT and payers and providers will share their insights about where their industry is headed—and how new alliances and partnerships are reshaping the playing field. Attendees will gain fresh perspectives about how to break down organisational silos that inhibit optimal innovation and value creation.
Every year, up to 150 INSEAD alumni and industry leaders attend the Summit, making the event a great networking opportunity as well as a marquee learning experience. In addition to the two-day conference, participants will enjoy formal dinner together at the Haus Metropol, near the Limmat River and the central Paradeplatz and Bahnhofstrasse.
The networking dinner’s highlight will be an awards ceremony, announcing the inaugural “INSEAD Healthcare Awards.” This honour recognises those individuals and firms in the healthcare field who are creating exceptional value for patients and other healthcare stakeholders. A prestigious panel of experts—including Roche Holding Vice Chairman Andre Hoffmann (INSEAD MBA ’90D), Stephen Chick, INSEAD Professor of Technology and Operations Management and the Novartis Chair of Healthcare Management; Dr. Gary Phillips, Sr. Director and Head of Global Health and Healthcare at World Economic Forum; Sten Stovall, European Bureau Chief at Elsevier Business Intelligence; and Aleksandar Ruzicic (INSEAD MBA ’97J), Vice President, INSEAD Healthcare Alumni Network—have selected two nominees each for three award categories based on input provided by INSEAD’s global healthcare network. The selection committee, together with the INSEAD Healthcare Awards Academy, will determine the winners in partnership with Value Edge, the international business research and analytics firm.
The committee will bestow three awards, one from each of the three event partners, as follows:
- INSEAD—“Healthcare Business Model”
- World Economic Forum—“Healthcare Entrepreneur”
- Elsevier Business Intelligence—“Healthcare Lifetime Achievement Award”
Said Aleksandar Ruzicic: “My colleagues and I in the INSEAD Healthcare Alumni Network, in collaboration with our partners The World Economic Forum and Elsevier Business Intelligence, are very pleased to inaugurate the INSEAD Healthcare Awards this year as part of our annual Summit that brings together top practitioners and academics. The Network’s mission is to encourage discussion about global healthcare topics and to provide a forum for vigorous engagement among those in the healthcare field. As the premier international business school, INSEAD is uniquely positioned to produce such an excellent forum.”
The INSEAD Healthcare Alumni Network was founded in 2006 as a non-profit organisation under Swiss law. It serves the interests of more than 2,000 INSEAD graduates working in the healthcare industry and related fields, and is managed by a committee of alumni volunteers. The Network has organised the annual Healthcare Summit since 2009, extending INSEAD thought leadership in the field and enhancing engagement among the school’s alumni practitioners in the healthcare industry.
