Booking Your Academic Dress

You will need to tell us the gender, height, chest size, and estimated hat size of the student to complete this section. You will also be able to provide details here of any additional information regarding the student such as sensory or mobility issues which you think would be helpful to the ceremony organisers.

Salamander Pin

You will receive a Salamander pin, a gift from INSEAD, to be fastened to the hood of your graduation gown. This Salamander pin is a reminder that you are now part of a global network of INSEAD Alumni.

Collecting and Returning Academic Dress

Collection will be clearly sign posted on the day.
The Academic Dress to be returned on the day, the location will be clearly sign posted if different from the collection point. All gowns are tagged with your name and this is used as proof of return; all hired items must be returned and are chargeable at retail price if lost or damaged.

Official Graduation Ceremony Photographs & Studio Sessions

Success Photography, gowns & photograph supplier, will install photo-booths to immortalize your graduation day.
Pre-order your graduation portrait photography and make your special day that bit easier. There is a wide range of packs available to suit all pockets and great value add-ons too.
Photography usually takes place before and after the ceremony in our studio area, this is clearly sign posted on the day of your event!

Practical Information
With a lot of events taking place in the Fontainebleau area in the next few months, especially in June & July, it is crucial to book your accommodation ASAP.
We invite you to visit the Fontainebleau tourism website where you can find useful information (hotels list, guest houses, etc.).
As of Monday 14 March, the vaccination pass is no longer required to access events in France.
You may refer to this government website for full details.
We will share further information closer to the date.
In the frame of your INSEAD Graduation ceremony taking place at Fontainebleau this summer, we want to share the following immigration and visa information with you:

- Check if you and/or your guest(s) will need a visa to enter France and to assist to your ceremony:

- If you and/or your guests do not need a visa to enter France, please follow carefully the “your arrival in France” France visas’ recommendations:

- If you and/or your guests need a visa, INSEAD – Student Life will provide for you and the registered guests the ceremony invitation letter justifying your coming, this letter will mention your names+ guests’ names, confirmed place and confirmed time of the ceremony.
A short stay visa (type C) also called Schengen visa would be the fitted visa for entering France and attending the Graduation ceremony.
- INSEAD – Student Life won’t be able to facilitate/fast tracking or fast processing your visa application. We recommend you to not wait for the last minute to apply for the required French visa. Summer is a high touristic season in France.
General timing: from 2 weeks to 5 weeks*Final decision always belongs to the French authorities, evaluated, and based on the pieces of evidence you’ll provide and compliance with the requirements.
- It will be up to applicants (you+ guests) to provide evidence on:

- Accommodation*
- Travel insurance*
- Sufficient means*

- Ceremony invitation letter for you and/or guests will be sent to you within 3 working days after you complete and submit the form available here:

After receiving the letter, if you find a mistake, we’ll invite you to complete again the form with information corrected. The letter will be issued under French visa application purpose and can *not* be used as a seat confirmation for your guests during the ceremony.
- COVID19 and Health requirements:
It will be under you and your guests’ responsibility to check on COVID19 and health requirements to enter the French territory at the time of your departure for France.

Dress code

The dress code for guest is business attire / smart casual.
We remind you that graduates must wear either the ceremonial gown, or formal regional dress during the ceremony. As such, we kindly invite you to book your gown on the Success Photography website as soon as possible.

Children at Graduation

You are welcome to share the graduation with your children
Children ages up to 6 do not need electronic tickets to join the ceremony.
If you would like your older children to join the graduation with you, please make sure to register them to get an electronic ticket.

How do I get my electronic tickets?

Do my guests need an electronic ticket to enter the Château?

For the health and safety of all attendees, only registered attendees will be allowed to access the Château during the Graduation. As such, you must have registered your partner, children and other accompanying family members/friends and they must have their own electronic ticket.
Without ticket, access to the chateau will be denied.

Covid-19 safety measures

INSEAD follows French government regulations with respect to the Covid-19 pandemic. Under the current guidelines that went into effect as of 14 March 2022, the French vaccination pass has been suspended, and mask wearing is no longer required in most situations. Please be aware, however, that masks remain mandatory in hospitals, pharmacies, and other healthcare settings. Masks are also recommended in crowded areas, along with other standard social distancing measures.
Laws and regulations are constantly evolving, and guidelines and protocols may be amended from time to time. We encourage you to check the official French government “Informations Coronavirus” website, before traveling to Fontainebleau for the graduation.
Additionally, Covid self-tests will be available at disposal during the gowns collection.

Seating plan for graduates and their guests

To ensure a smooth award of diplomas, graduates will be seated by alphabetical order. The seating plan will be shared closer to the date by email.
There won’t be any seating plan for guests, it is on a first come first served basis.

Gowns collection & return

More information on gowns collection (date, time, location) will be shared closer to the date. However, kindly note that gowns will have to be returned at the Château after the Ceremony.

Is there a way for my family members and friends who are not coming, to be part of the ceremony?

The event will be livestreamed, allowing those who cannot make it to be an integral part of the ceremony. As such, do not hesitate to invite your family and friends to connect and experience this important milestone together. We will share the link closer to the date.

Is there any available parking in the area?

Should I book for a lunch/diner at the restaurant after the Ceremony?
