VP Venture Scale at ENGIE Factory and former co-founder of INSEACT
Tim van Vliet is a Dutch entrepreneur and business leader known for his work in sustainable agriculture and venture scaling.
In 2020, leveraging his diverse background, Tim co-founded INSEACT, a Singapore-based company specializing in producing sustainable proteins from insects. The company utilizes waste streams from palm oil production to cultivate black soldier flies, which are then processed into protein-rich feed for aquaculture, insect oil for livestock feed, and organic fertilizer for farming. Under his leadership, INSEACT raised USD 1.3 million in an oversubscribed seed funding round in August 2020, advancing its mission to become a leading producer of insect-based aquaculture feed.
In 2023, Tim transitioned to the role of Vice President of Venture Scale at ENGIE Factory Asia-Pacific, where he focuses on scaling innovative ventures in the region.
As a former start-up founder Tim have lived through the start-up cycle several times, from ideation and building teams to raising funds and exits. Today, he uses this experience to build and invest in climate-tech ventures at Engie Factory.
