Biography
Following a lengthy international career in private equity, Graham Oldroyd now acts as an independent Chairman and Non-Executive Director of multiple companies in the UK and continental Europe. These include positions on the main Boards of both un-listed private-equity-backed companies and quoted companies with main-market listings on stock exchanges in London and Stockholm.
After completing an MBA from INSEAD in 1989, from 1990 to 2013 Graham worked at European mid-market private equity fund manager Bridgepoint Capital. Initially based in the UK, he was subsequently made Partner in charge of the Nordic region, establishing Bridgepoint’s permanent offices in Stockholm, and later moved to Frankfurt as Partner responsible for Manufacturing and Industrials investment across Europe and co-head for German-speaking countries. In these roles he acted as a deal Partner, but also served as an operating Partner for two years following the Global Financial Crisis.
Having developed a case study exercise focusing on the private equity investment committee assessment of two mid-market buy-out opportunities, Graham is a regular speaker on INSEAD’s Global Executive MBA Programme.
Graham served as a Commissioner of the Church of England Commissioners from 2014 to 2019, as a Board Member and Trustee, and as a member of the Assets Committee responsible for investment of the c. £8.3Bn Church Commissioners Fund, an endowment fund supporting the Church of England.
Graham is a graduate of INSEAD (MBA) and Cambridge University (MA Engineering). He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
