Gilbert Ghostine has served as Chairman of the Board of Sandoz since March 2023 and as Chairman of the Board of SGS since March 2026. Both are companies listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.
He is the former CEO of Geneva based Firmenich, which he led from 2014 to 2023 through a period of significant strategic transformation, culminating in its merger with DSM in May 2023 to create a global leader in beauty, nutrition, and well being. An experienced business leader, he has a strong track record of growing and transforming businesses in highly competitive industries. His career spans four decades, including senior executive roles at Firmenich and Diageo across multiple geographies.
Gilbert Ghostine currently serves on the Board of Directors of Danone, where he is a member of the Audit and CSR Committees, and on the Board of Directors of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, where he chairs the Remuneration and Nomination Committee. He is also Chairman of the Fondation pour l’Attractivité de Genève (FLAG).
He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Saint Joseph University in Lebanon and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
