Gaurav Shah is a seasoned business leader with 20 years of experience as a business strategist, management consultant and transformation leader. He specializes in growth strategy, procurement & supply chain, organizational development and digitalization. He has extensive experience in business management, international consulting and new business ventures in Asia and Europe.
Gaurav founded Gofig along with Disha Shah in 2023 with a commitment to tackle the problem of waste from surplus and short-dated products. Since then, he has dedicated himself to the mission of eliminating waste and the environmental impact from these goods. Gofig works with FMCG brands to help them manage these goods in an environmentally responsible manner. Gofig also educates consumers and incentivizes them to shop for close-to-expiry items via attractive pricing and transparent information on the remaining shelf life. By preventing disposal and driving consumption, Gofig eliminates the wastage of r sources and environmental impact, while maximizing value.
Previously as the Director & Head of Strategy for New Business Ventures at Gap, Inc. he led the company’s diversification, growth and digitalization strategy for Asia Pacific. As a Management Consultant at BASF, Hong Kong and McKinsey & Co., Germany, he set up and led high impact transformation projects delivering significant EBIT impact and sustainable value creation. As an Interim-CEO and Group Directors at Master Handlers, India he successfully led the organization-wide change and transformation.
Gaurav holds an MBA from INSEAD (France / Singapore), an MSc. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA) and a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Maryland (College Park, USA). He has a passion for new business ventures, sustainability & technology and supports tech enabled ventures as a mentor. In his spare time he loves to travel, exercise and play soccer.
