Biography
Clara Christina Streit is both a US and a German citizen and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. She serves as an independent non-executive director of several European corporations.
She began her career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company and retired as a senior partner in 2012, after more than 20 years of experience as an advisor to financial institutions.
She has been a director and member of the Nomination and Compensation Committee of Vontobel Holding AG from 2011 to 2024. From May 2015 to April 2018, she was a member of the Board of Directors and the Internal Controls & Risks and Corporate Governance, HR & Nomination Committees at Unicredit S.p.A, Milan. Between 2017 and 2022, she was a member of NN Group’s Supervisory Board. She has been a non-executive director of Jeronimo Martins from 2015 to 2025, since 2022 as Chair of the Audit Committee.
Since 2013, Clara has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the German property company Vonovia SE; she was elected Chair of the Supervisory Board in 2023.
In 2019, she was appointed member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse AG, currently serving on the Nomination Committee. She has been indicated for election as Chair of the Supervisory Board in May 2025. Clara also heads the Government Commission for the German Corporate Governance Code.
