Biography

Christoph Köchert, born in Vienna in 1964, is the Managing Partner of A.E. Köchert Jewellers, one of Austria’s most esteemed family-run businesses with a heritage spanning over two centuries. Founded in 1814 and once an official purveyor to the Imperial Court, A.E. Köchert is renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and iconic creations, including the famous diamond stars worn by Empress Sisi. With boutiques in both Vienna and Salzburg, the house continues to unite historical legacy with contemporary design, producing exquisite jewellery in its own workshop.

After completing a goldsmith apprenticeship, Christoph pursued a degree in Business Administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, graduating in 1991. His early career was shaped by international experience through internships with leading jewellers in New York and Johannesburg. In 1996, he curated and co-organized the acclaimed exhibition “Kunde: Kaiser” at Schönbrunn Palace, commemorating Austria’s 1000-year anniversary. He is a board member of the Hénokiens, an international association of bicentennial family enterprises. Christoph is married to Dipl. Ing. Anna Köchert, and together they have four children.
