Biography

Ann-Kristin Achleitner is Distinguished Affiliated Professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where she held the Chair of Entrepreneurial Finance between 2001 and 2020, as well as at the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) in Berlin. An accomplished academic, she now acts primarily as a non-executive board director, venture investor and policy advisor.

She currently sits on the Linde Board of Directors, the Supervisory Board of DHL, and is a Director of Lazard Group. Previously, Ann-Kristin Achleitner served as a non-executive board director of MunichRE, Deutsche Börse, Engie, Metro, Vontobel Holding and Vontobel Bank.

Apart from this she is a member of the Advisory Board of Techem and a founding investor and vice-chairwoman of planqc.

At present a Vice President of the German National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech), she has advised the German, Bavarian and Swiss governments, as well as in the EU commission, in multiple commissions,  i.e. lately in the future commission of the German chancellor and in the Bavarian Ethics Commission. From 2012 to 2016 she was a member of the German Corporate Governance Commission.  Ann-Kristin Achleitner is also a member of several boards of non-public institutions and foundations, including the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) in Princeton, the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) and the Dieter Schwarz Foundation.
