Angela leads a Stewardship Services practice at Morningstar Sustainalytics, a global leader in sustainability services. In her role, Angela works directly with company boards and management on behalf of over 140 institutional investors, representing 5 trillion euro in assets under engagement. She advocates for strong sustainability practices across a spectrum of issues, from corporate governance and biodiversity to climate action and human rights. This past year, she advanced her team’s capabilities by pioneering a new impact measurement system, which enables precise tracking of the effectiveness of engagement strategies and showcases how stewardship actions translate into long-term performance and positive societal impact.

Angela’s approach to stewardship has evolved significantly with the integration of technology, as her team built out new data and data analytics capabilities to better measure and communicate the impact of their engagements. This technology-enabled insight not only strengthens their alignment with business objectives but also reinforces the bridge between investor goals, corporate responsibility, and societal benefits. Additionally, she collaborates with Sustainalytics' ESG Proxy Voting Overlay service to offer comprehensive proxy voting guidance that reflects investors' evolving priorities.

Previously, Angela led the Financial Services Research team at Morningstar Sustainalytics, where she spearheaded the development of the ESG Risk Rating methodology for the financial sector, a transformative initiative that set a new global standard in evaluating ESG risks and is one of the most widely used ESG ratings in the world.

Angela serves on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Banking Sector Standard Technical Committee , where she helps to drive transparency and accountability in banking through enhanced sustainability reporting standards. This past year she has been advising the GRI on the drafting of a new GRI Banking Sector Standard, which is expected to be released in late 2025. Advocating for the inclusion of AI as a material consideration in the standard, Angela is committed to bridging business and technology to create a sustainable future. Her work embodies efforts to unite business, technology, and humanity to achieve impactful sustainability goals.
