The scholarship was established in 2021 following a successful fundraising campaign to create a scholarship for Italian MBA students in memory of Michele Pedercini, INSEAD MBA’92J, who sadly passed away in 2020. Michele was deeply respected by all who knew him, and his legacy brought together a remarkable community of INSEAD alumni, friends and colleagues to honour him in a meaningful way. Over €300,000 was received for the scholarship, a majority from alumni.
Intesa Sanpaolo, the Italian banking group where he worked, and Fondazione Donor Italia, a philanthropic foundation based in Milan, helped to facilitate the giving.
