The scholarship was established in memory of Antonio Borges who sadly passed away in 2013. A highly respected Dean of INSEAD (1993–2000), MBA programme Dean (1986–1990), talented economics professor and widely-regarded business leader, Antonio Borges was also a true international, with deep connections to his native Portugal.
The scholarship received its first major donation in January 2014 from a generous INSEAD alumnus who kindly offered to transfer his own endowed fund that he had created at INSEAD in 2008 to the Antonio Borges Endowed Scholarship. Subsequently, the scholarship has continued to receive funding from Antonio’s family, friends, and colleagues as well as many INSEAD alumni who know him.
