Global Talent Competitiveness Index 2025

GTCI sponsors - INSEAD & Portulans

Welcome to the 2025 edition of the Global Talent Competitive Index. Themed “Resilience in the Age of Disruption”, this year’s GTCI – the 11th since 2013 – examines how nations and economies are building talent systems capable of weathering the multiple disruptions faced by individuals and society.

2025 marks a new era for the Global Talent Competitiveness Index, with the launch of a new partnership between INSEAD and the Portulans Institute. This collaboration maintains the intellectual rigour of the index while expanding its analytical depth, bringing together INSEAD’s academic legacy and Portulans’ decade of expertise developing trusted global indices.

The GTCI 2025 model comprises 77 indicators across 135 countries, collectively representing over 97 percent of global GDP and 93 percent of the world’s population. Each iteration of the index undergoes independent statistical audit and sensitivity testing by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.

This year’s report is notable for including several new variables that reflect the contemporary drivers of talent competitiveness across the globe – including artificial intelligence adoption, soft skills and employee well-being.

What matters most today are adaptive capabilities: forward-looking vision, the ability to collaborate, think across disciplines, innovate under pressure, and navigate fast-moving, tech-driven environments. These are the skills that increasingly define a country’s competitiveness — and the GTCI now captures this reality more clearly than ever.

In a period of intense disruption and transformation, the insights offered by the 2025 edition of the GTCI Report could not be more timely.
