Research

I am currently leading the Organizations and Algorithms Research Program (supported by the Desmairis Fund at INSEAD), in which my collaborators and I study how algorithms affect organizations as tools (e.g., machine learning), templates for organizing (e.g., blockchain and metaverse), and teammates (human-AI collaboration).

The working papers eventually show up on my Google scholar page, but feel free to reach out about any you may have heard about/seen presented.

New book (in progress):  “Hierarchy in Organizations: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” is a sequel to The Microstructures of Organizations (Oxford University Press, 2018). This one reviews what we have learned about the emergence, growth, stability and adaptive properties of hierarchies, as well as their limits as we confront rapid changes in technology and culture.

Students interested in Research Internship opportunities with me should apply through this page
