Founded only two years ago, PRONOE has grown from an early-stage venture into a fast-developing company with a team of 13 employees (up from just two in early 2024). The second version of their pilot is up and running, and a demonstrator is planned within the next six months. Their breakthrough technology is now backed by partnerships with leading public and private research institutes.
This year, PRONOE was also selected among the Top 100 teams in the XPRIZE Carbon Removal competition - a global challenge launched on Earth Day 2021 and concluding during Earth Week 2025 — a significant milestone in their mission to provide scalable, sustainable solutions.
Amid recent global uncertainties, Nicolas remains hopeful. As France prepares to host the UN Ocean Conference in Nice in June 2025, he sees a powerful opportunity to raise public awareness about the ocean’s crucial role in climate mitigation. Supported by initiatives like RespectOcean, PRONOE is helping to lead conversations around ocean-based carbon removal, certification, and ecosystem preservation.
Nicolas' message is one of hopeful responsibility: acknowledging the challenges, but with the belief that through consistent, determined action, meaningful solutions for biodiversity, climate, and sustainability will develop and scale.
