Johanna joined INSEAD as a Research Associate at the Stone Center in September 2025. She is a PhD candidate in Economics at Sciences Po Paris, holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Mannheim.
Her research lies in labor economics, with a particular focus on job seekers and low-income earners at the lower end of the income distribution. She uses large-scale field experiments to study the job-search behavior of marginalized groups and to explore ways to improve their integration into labor markets. In addition, she examines the interaction between labor and housing markets, analyzing the drivers and consequences of homelessness as well as the effectiveness of large-scale public policies targeting this population.
At INSEAD, Johanna is currently working closely with Professor Maria Guadalupe and Professor Alexandra Roulet on several projects involving field experiments with the French Public Employment Services, France Travail.
