Upon graduation, Lamiae joined the IMF as a Research Analyst in the Middle East and Central Asia Department, where she conducted macroeconomic analysis and supported economic projections for countries including Somalia, Sudan, and Djibouti, while also contributing to research on climate change. She later joined the World Bank, where she works on private capital facilitation, focusing on efforts to attract and enable private investment in development projects. In this role, she oversees global reporting efforts and advises teams on strategies to mobilize private sector participation across emerging markets. This combination of public and private sector experience motivated her to deepen her understanding of how firm-level decisions and strategies, including mergers and acquisitions, interact with broader economic outcomes.
