Gavin studied mathematics at the University of Oxford and obtained a Double First. He was a College Scholar for four years (2020-2023), obtained the College Open Scholarship (2020-2023) and Academic Progress Prize (2020-2021), and was awarded the Schools Prize for graduating with a first class. During his undergraduate studies, he spent one summer as a research intern at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Oxford, supervised by Prof. Dan Ciubotaru. His masters thesis, which received a distinction, concerned the modularity theorem. His current research interests are in decision sciences, especially in regret theory.
