INSEAD takes 2nd spot in Case Centre Impact Index

INSEAD, The Business School for the World, has moved up into #2 position in The Case Centre Impact Index 2025. Created in 2023, the Index looks to celebrate the global reach and impact of case writing contributions.

INSEAD ranked second globally among international business schools and holds the top position among European institutions. This achievement reflects the school's ongoing commitment to research excellence and the case method and a desire to continue to shape the landscape of business education and inspire students and professionals worldwide.

Lily Fang, Dean of Research and Innovation at INSEAD, said: “This recognition is a powerful testament to INSEAD's dedication to producing rigorous and relevant research. In this age of uncertainty and disruption, it is essential that we remain committed to developing impactful and innovative teaching materials that can help transform business education.”

INSEAD continues to invest heavily in case writing. Every year, the school’s faculty and case writers produce award-winning and best-selling materials built on their vast expertise and unparalleled access to industry executives, entrepreneurs and experts.

Since 2024, The Case Centre has received 129 new cases for distribution from INSEAD authors. In total, the INSEAD collection available through The Case Centre includes close to 2,500 cases, many with accompanying instructor materials, software and videos. 205 of those are prize-winning cases.

INSEAD not only invests in traditional case writing but also leads in pedagogical innovation, with a growing portfolio of immersive VR experiences and dynamic LiveCases that bring real-time decision-making into the classroom. The current collection contains 12 LiveCases and 21 VR experiences.

The Index is compiled using The Case Centre's usage data from the previous academic year. To reflect the global reach and impact of an organisation's case writing, the index metrics include how many of their cases have been adopted, by how many organisations, in how many countries, and how many individual students have been taught with the cases. All organisations that have published at least one case with The Case Centre during the previous academic year are eligible.

INSEAD continues to be a global leader in case study excellence. In the Case Centre Awards and Competitions 2024, INSEAD made history as it became the first business school in the world to surpass 100 awards since the annual competition began in 1991.
